Very nice place to spend the night. Dog friendly too!!! Room was comfy and clean. Great HOT shower. Continental free breakfast waa great before heading out on the rood. Doors were secure ( outside doors not by lobby) and lobby has security camera access to all doors. If I'm in the area again, I'll stay again.
Room and service are fine. I would like to see better variety and expand the breakfast options. I thought room prices could be lower than they are. They must be busy in the Summer time.

A little musty smell but not terrible. Room was clean. Water pressure in shower was okay. Could be better. Breakfast was only muffins and cereal. But it was a place to sleep while we enjoyed a day in fairplay. The south park town was great and my husband enjoyed trout fishing.
This place is literally from the 1940s (well the city that is) however, when you walk inside you get the friendliness of the 1940s with the modern feel of a chain hotel. Front desk staff was super nice. The breakfast was mid but I wasn’t expecting any breakfast so it was good! Incredible views.
I am very grateful to this hotel and in particular to Kayla who received my friend and I late in the night. Our car broke down on 285 about ten miles south of the hotel and we were in a pretty annoying and unfortunate situation. Kayla received us with understanding and kindness. I was glad to take a hot shower, have a spacious and very very clean room with nice, cozy, heavy sheets. I slept pretty well and apparently my friend reports that he had one of the best rests, with a lot of restoration and positive dreams. Even in the midst of a busy busy weekend when the hotel was almost fully booked, for weddings and festivals, did Kayla shower us with patience and empathy, as we shared some of our needs and worries about how to rectify our situation. About a five minute walk from the hotel or less is a pristine stream, glistening and glittering in the morning light. About a ten minute walk, surrounded by young and fresh smelling pines, is a pristine lake, where I took a spirit enhancing phone call with a friend. Much needed in the midst of the somewhat unsettling and rough situation. A little further on are some decent places to buy food, soup, groceries, or stop for coffee. Again very grateful for the service and rest given to us by this hotel and its staff.
The Riverside Travel lodge provided a positive experience. Although we were only there for one night, our room was very clean. My only complaint is my neighbors talked so loud throughout the night which wakened me a few times. I definitely plan to stay again if ever in Fairplay in the future.
Great little hotel for our emergency stay. The staff in the evening were great, smiling and kind, the morning person didn’t seem to love her job or even really like it and she did not like to be bothered with any questions. The rooms were clean and cozy except for the coffee pot…that needed a good cleaning and probably disinfection of the innards. Other than that we had a good stay.
